Price vs running cost
The buy price is only part of the story. Here's one Varmo against a typical 2,000 W heater over a 20-week winter of 5-hour evenings at full power, at the Ofgem cap rate of 26.32p per kWh.
Varmo (600 W)
Buy: £59.00
Winter running cost: up to £110.54
Up to £169.54
2,000 W heater
Buy: varies
Winter running cost: up to £368.48
Up to £368.48 + heater
Full-power figures. Thermostat-controlled heaters cost less once the room is warm. A bigger heater gives more heat, so it suits larger rooms.
Running cost calculator
| Per day | Per week | Winter (26 wks) | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Varmo 600 W* | £0.26 | £1.82 | £47.32 |
| 2,000 W fan heater | £2.60 | £18.20 | £473.20 |
*Estimate: one hour at full power to warm the room, then ThermoLock topping up about 10 minutes an hour. Real costs depend on room size, insulation and outside temperature.

No code is needed. The launch prices above are already applied. See Varmo discount codes for more.
Is Varmo cheaper on Amazon?
The official UK place to buy is getvarmo.co.uk. Other listings aren't covered by our money-back guarantee. See Varmo on Amazon.
Is the price worth it compared with other heaters?
You can find plug-in heaters for less, and larger fan heaters for a similar price. What you are paying for with Varmo is the combination: a low 600 W draw, a ThermoLock thermostat you set to the exact degree, a remote, an auto-off timer and a plug-in design with no trailing cable.
The bigger number is often the running cost. A 2 kW fan heater costs about 52.6p an hour at full power at the current price cap, while Varmo costs about 15.8p. If you use a heater for several hours a day across winter, that difference adds up to far more than the purchase price.
Are there any hidden costs?
No. The price you see includes VAT and free tracked UK delivery. There is no subscription, no app to pay for and no extra charge for the remote. You pay once at the secure Shopify checkout by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay.
Will the price go up?
The current prices are a launch offer. We won't use countdown timers or fake stock warnings to rush you. If prices change, the price on the website at the time you order is the one you pay.
