Real complaints, answered honestly

You might hear

"It won't heat my whole house."

The truth

It isn't meant to. Varmo is a 600 W heater for one normal-sized room, and we say so clearly.

You might hear

"My open-plan room takes ages to warm."

The truth

Large or draughty spaces lose heat fast. Close doors, or use two Varmos at either end.

You might hear

"I saw it cheaper elsewhere."

The truth

Unofficial listings may be copies and aren't covered by our guarantee. Our 4-pack brings it down to £43.75 each.

You might hear

"The ad looked like a news story."

The truth

That ad wasn't from us. We don't use fake news articles or celebrity names. Report it to the ASA.

You might hear

"Will it actually arrive?"

The truth

Every order is sent free and tracked from our UK warehouse, with a tracking link by email.

You might hear

"Can I get my money back?"

The truth

Yes. Every order has our money-back guarantee, on top of your legal 14-day right to cancel.

You might hear

"Is 15p an hour real?"

The truth

Yes: 600 W × 26.32p per kWh (Ofgem cap) = about 15.8p an hour at full power. Less once the thermostat switches off.

You might hear

"Is it just a cheap mini heater?"

The truth

It's a PTC ceramic heater with a 15–32°C thermostat, remote, 6–12h timer, overheat cut-out, CE and UKCA marks.

What fake Varmo ads and sites look like

Fake news-style articles

"Brits are ditching central heating" stories that end in a buy link.

Celebrity names or TV shows

We don't use celebrity endorsements.

Countdown timers and "3 left"

Pressure tricks to rush you. We don't use them.

Prices far below ours

Too cheap usually means a copy, or nothing at all.

Odd web addresses

Anything other than getvarmo.co.uk, e.g. extra words or strange endings.

Bank transfer requests

We only take payment through secure Shopify checkout.

Is Varmo a scam?

No. Varmo is a real 600 W plug-in ceramic heater, CE and UKCA marked, sold officially at getvarmo.co.uk with secure Shopify checkout, free tracked UK delivery and a money-back guarantee.

How do I complain about a Varmo order?

Contact our UK team through the contact page with your order number and a short description of the problem. We'll help with delivery issues, faults, returns and refunds.

Why do some people think Varmo might be a scam?

Popular heaters are often advertised on social media with bold claims, and some of those adverts come from copycat sellers using look-alike names and photos. That makes people understandably cautious. Varmo itself is a real 600 W ceramic plug-in heater, sold officially at getvarmo.co.uk with secure Shopify checkout, free tracked UK delivery and a money-back guarantee.

We keep our claims to what the specification supports: one normal-sized room, about 15.8p an hour at full power at the Ofgem price cap, and a thermostat that switches off once the room is warm.

How do I report a fake Varmo advert or website?

If you see an advert or website pretending to be Varmo, report it to the Advertising Standards Authority through its scam ad form, and use the report option on the social media platform. If you lost money, report it to Action Fraud online or on 0300 123 2040.

You are also welcome to tell us through our contact page. We can't take action on behalf of other sellers, but knowing which fake sites exist helps us warn other buyers.

Can I get my money back from a fake seller?

Contact your bank or card provider as soon as possible. Card payments can often be challenged through a chargeback, and credit card purchases between £100 and £30,000 may be covered by Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act. Citizens Advice explains the options step by step.

Keep screenshots of the advert, the website address, emails and your payment record. They help your bank and Action Fraud.
